Recently, I had a problem with my Windows 2000 installation. One of my system files was corrupted, and despite mine and my techie friends' best efforts, we were unable to get Win2k running again.
Thankfully, my university offers free software for CS majors, so I picked up a copy of Windows XP Pro. I installed it on my system on the same drive as my Windows 2000 installation. I know that formatting is generally the best way to install a new OS, but at the time I absolutely could not format due to having extremely important files there not backed up.
I'm going to be keeping XP and all the files on my HD except Windows 2k. What is the best way to uninstall Win2k without losing any information that might be in one of my Win2k specific folders?
Thanks for your time.
