i need to uninstall symantec antivirus client on one of the machines here at work because it isn't recieving any updates from our server. i need to do it MANUALLY because its asking for some kind of network related password which i dont know when trying to uninstall from the control panel. anyway ive been following a guide off the symantec website on how to uninstall it manually which includes removing shortcuts, program files, and registry entries which i have already did. so when i try to reinstall it, it gives a message telling me one entry which is {0EFC66259-3AD8-4CD2-BC57-D4937AF5CC0E} is still on the machine, and it does NOT give me the option to have it managed or unmanaged when it comes to dat updates before installing. the funny thing is, the registry entry isn't on the machine, yet it tells me it is during install. anyone have any clue on what i could do here?
