come on guys... anybody got a serious answer?

can someone actually go to YAHOO games... log in and see if they can play.. because something is wrong here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calm down dude.

Listen, open up My Computer, My Documents, or any other folder on your computer. What does it open up in? An Internet Explorer window. If you uninstall IE, Windows won't display any folders, thus when you boot up your computer you wont see any icons, no start menu, nothing.

Search around in your backup discs, your restoration files or something. If you can find IE in there, then see if you can replace your current IE.

And lay off the coffee. 🙂

dude, i fully understand, don't drink coffee..

i don't want to get rid of it, need to repair/restore something...

my teacher is having a problem too--we think he installed IE 6, and now something went wrong, and the OS (2000) is messed up. We keep telling him to format, or ghost the other computer (exactly the same thing) to this one, and he says, no, it still works! pfft! I know no way to "uninstall" internet explorer like you would, say an Adobe program, or anything else.

bjc112,

I figured out to have Java run correctly in IE6 / Windows 2000.... maybe, this will help you:

1. Under control panel, repair IE6.
2. Under control panel, uninstall all instances of Java.
3. Download and install this.

Are you sure you're not getting Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer mixed up? Sure the GUI front end is similar, but not the same. Removing IE 6.0 isn't going to disable Windows Explorer. The only issue would be folders/files that have HTML/Web content enabled that use IE as the method of displaying. The folders will still display contents and files will still be accessible.
