I have a friend that seems to be having some problems related to the IE version 8 browser on her laptop computer.

How can IE8 on a VISTA machine be uninstalled, so I can try to reinstall it to see if that will straighten out her problems ?

I do NOT see any entry in control panel add/remove program, so that I might uninstall the current installation of IE8. Is IE8 now perhaps installed along with/part of the O/S (VISTA) ?

Thanks.

I will look again as soon as I can get the computer booted, but to my recall, there were NO listings in installed updates for any version of IE.

If there is NO entry there, what does this mean ?

Thanks.

Be wary. Read this, especially the part about whether or not IE8 was installed before or after SP3. You may be better off leaving IE8 alone and installing Firefox or another browser and just not using IE8.
