Uninstalling ALSA?

Hello all. After many unsuccesful attempts (and half-succesful attempts) of using ALSA for my onboard Via 8233 in RedHat 8.0, I've decided to give up. I found a Trident 4DWave DX soundcard and have decided to just use it (i think RedHat comes with support for this one). I want to make sure that there is no room for conficts, so I ask you: how do I uninstall ALSA?
