Uninstall Windows 8 Default Programs

After an hour of Googling, I decided to post here in the hopes that someone could point me a link or guide me through this. I got Windows 8, did a clean install over Windows 7, and am actually pretty happy. Then I looked at some of the things that come with Win8, like Weather, Metro games/music viewing apps, and so on, which I don't really need on a desktop. Is there any way to remove these, beyond going back to Windows 7?

You can't remove Metro, but you can uninstall any of the Metro apps. Right click and it will be one of the options.

Those do look interesting (I pretty much ignore Metro), but does it actually remove the programs/files? I'm trying to reclaim some SSD space.
