Uninstall Nvidia drivers

My 2nd Ti4200 started having major problems recently and I don't care to send it back again and wait a another month for a replacement. so I ordered a 9800 Pro

I know that I should completely uninstall my Nvidia drivers before I install my new 9800 Pro and I have read about several ways to do that.

But how can I completely uninstall the drivers when my current ti4200 is unusable?

thanks

Use Driver Cleaner, just follow the instructions in the "readme file" which bascially says remove old drivers via add/remove program icon in control panel and boot into safe mode and run Driver Cleaner.

Btw 4141,welcome to the AT forums .

thanks for the help and welcome.

So if I run Driver Cleaner after installing the ATI card I can still uninstall the old Nvidia drivers? With the old card I can't do anything without having major graphic corruption, lockups and even the monitor going into power save mode, even in 2D mode.

If it`s not working or really bad on stability to the point you can`t boot and remove the Nvidia drivers( for your Geforce card) ,I would remove the GF4 card from the PC,install your ATI card ,don`t install ATI drivers just yet, boot into safe mode & remove Nvidia drivers and run Driver Cleaner after(for Nvidia) then boot back to normal desktop and install ATI drivers.
