I have installed media player 9 to my computer, the final, not the beta. I am having issues with it, and want to revert back to 8.0 without doing a restore point. Is there a way I can uninstall it? I have tried the regular ways. Windows components, didn't work, control panel remove programs, didn't have anything.

Other ways?

Thanks,

It's "part of the operating system" not an application

so you'll need to use a restore point unless you can Google your way to some non-Microsoft tool to do the job.

I tried a bunch of different methods, but had to do a restore point. First one I have ever done. It went off without a hitch. Only minor things like folders needing to be deleted, and misc programs to be installed, so that their originals could be uninstalled. Otherwise workd good and FINALLY GOT THAT crap WMP9 off.

I doubt that.

Even though you think you got it off the core WMP9 files are still installed. I'll give you another example. Let's say you have WMP 6.4 and you install 7.1 Even though you uninstall 7.1 and then run 6.4 that 6.4 will have the 7.1 core files. There is no way to undo that unless you do a reformat.
