Unifi a good option?

I am thinking of picking up a Unifi to replace my Buffalo Router which suffers from constant reboots. Do I also need to pick up a wired router to connect my desktop, printer etc which are all wired devices?

Sorry if it's a noob question

The UniFi handles the wireless; you'll still need a router for the actual routing. You can use your old one with the radio turned off (what model?), or get a new one. Basically you'll end up using a wifi router with the radio off, since the wired-only router Ubiquiti sells is way more technical than you want.

It's pretty easy to get a cheap rock-solid router for the actual routing if you're up to flashing custom firmware, but for a good cheap out-of-the-box experience I'd probably suggest the Netgear 3500L.

Unifi's are great. I have one in my basement and it does the whole house and is rock solid. Unlike consumer grade routers it never has to be rebooted. The nice thing too is it can do vlans. You set the port as a trunk port on your switch and you can have several SSIDs for different vlans, such as a guest network and what not.
