10 Dead in crash...

Hope this doesn't go P&N...

A quick google shows that the Excursion is a 9 passenger vehicle. How do you fit 22 people in there?

Almost all of them were ejected. I'm going 'wtf'.

Dude you know how big an excursion is lol.

They were all ejected because uh non of them were wearing seatbelts . Yes seat belts matter.

Out of respect for the dead it probably shouldnt be called a clowncar. Too bad the story doesnt describe what caused the accident. Where they being chased? Did everyone shift to one side? Sad story. :(

I hadn't read anything posted in this thread and my first thought when reading the title was a bunch of dumb illegal aliens thought an Excursion was a bus. So I take it that these were border hopping Mexicans?

Considering the article stated "undocumented immigrants", I'm going to go with the assumption the SUV was packed full of illegal aliens.

Arizona?
22 undocumented immigrants in an SUV?

IMHO, it's a fair assumption. Common practice for border runners is to pack vehicles far over capacity or try and hide them.

This is assuming it was a border crossing, however, as I don't know how protected every mile of the border is. I know there is fence or double fence along much of the border, but I have heard of more troubled/treacherous paths that aren't fenced yet common for drug runners and human trafficking.

Otherwise, it could have been transportation of recently crossed aliens from one location to their new living quarters/place of work.

Undocumented immigrants just stands out as fancy PC talk for illegal aliens.

I knew before I came in here that vehicle was going to be packed to the gills with illegals.

Many times we've seen deaths from the rings they run, putting their fellow countrymen in dangerous border hopping situations.

This. Let's see... 22 people, in an SUV.... in Arizona. Yeah, they're illegals.

And if that is indeed the case... am I wrong to not really feel any sympathy or remorse? I mean seriously, I am heavily against illegal immigration. Can't wait until the day we have every single foot of the Mexican border locked down.

Normally I am against anything that goes above and beyond decent methods of balancing peace/rights and security (look to sig on that matter), but there is nothing wrong with having locked down borders, as no rights or anything are put in jeopardy by doing so. At least, not the rights of citizens. ;) Illegally hopping the border to get those rights, I will never agree with. Come the right way dammit. Sure, there are immigration quotas/limits, but countries have those for a reason.

Eh, I guess I can't really disagree with you. I'm sort of neutral on illegal immigration - I don't really like it and I think we could and should be doing a lot more to reduce the number of people trying to get in illegally (both by increasing security and by encouraging legal immigration by making it easier, within reason of course). But I don't hate illegal immigrants either the way some people seem to, as long as they are contributing to society in some way rather than causing trouble.

Basically, if I found out someone was an illegal immigrant, I wouldn't help protect them, but I wouldn't snitch either (unless they did something else to deserve it). The sad part is that many illegals are not good people at all, and cause crime. That makes it harder for those who do just want to get an honest job.

Yeah, who didn't know that I guess!

Not even on my worst night would I find cramming 22 people into an SUV an acceptable idea.
