Unexpected NIC traffic.

My NIC has recently been doing a lot of small activity on a constant basis (like 1-2k up/down).

I am not using anything that would make it have traffic and wondering what malicious software is causing this.

Is there a way to figure out which app is using my connection? I am afraid that there is something wrong here.
