I reside in ny and relocating to s. fla. i was layed off. can i still collect unemployment while in fla looking for a job?

Yes. Talk to your unemployment office. They'll let you know what you need to do....if anything. When I was unemployed, the lady I was talking to said all I had to do was give them a change of address (I was thinking of moving to Florida from Michigan). Nothing else changed...dollar amount, number of weeks I could collect, etc.

unemployment= teh suxor. I could never live off of it...and it's too easy to get caught getting paid under the table....i've thought about it :p

how do they calculate how much $$ you get? is that different based on which state you're working at?

haven't been unemployed...yet. just curious

Last I knew you could go anywhere to look for a job. Talk to your NY unemployment office.
