Does anyone here collect unemployment checks? I'm just curious ... is it collected weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc..??
Do you get taxed on the amount that you collect?

With layoffs around the corner, I might find myself in the unemployment line soon. 🙁
 
At the moment I would be quite happy to be laid off, I could easily live off of unemployment (I would get the max amount), & it would force me to either get a new job or find something else to do with myself.

I'll get the max and I believe the max is $370 starting Jan 5, 2003 in California.

That amount taxed ... I'll get enough to live on bread and water. 🙁
 
not sure how it is for other states, but i know for TX you can choose to either have the tax removed from each check, or deal with paying the tax come tax season...and yea..bi weekly...
