Considering that many people think of Utahans and Mormons as uneducated and sort of backwards, I found this article interesting.

"You know you are a hick (redneck) if your home is mobile and your car isn't" Jeff Foxworthy

edit: oops, should have read the link first. There are lots of mormons here in Las Vegas, in fact before I moved after my divorce, I had about 6 neighbors that were mormons. They were really nice and great to be around but on Sunday they spend like 8 hours at the church. I also heard that they (all mormons) give a percentage of their paychecks to the church. Worship is ok in my book, to whatever faith you have, but too much is just too much.

better put on my asbestos suit now...

Here's one:
Paul D. Boyer, BYU alumnus and professor emeritus at UCLA, with two others, received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry October, 1997 for discovery of enzymes that fuel energy production within the cell.

I've never heard of anyone refer to mormons as a hick or uneducated. I have, however, lived in Provo UT, and in my experience a large percentage of mormons are intolerant, more conservative than rush limbaugh, and more than willing to shove their religion down your throat.
