Believe it? Not really, it sure was funny to read though! 😀

ROFLMAO!!! That's what I thought initially at first, but after thinking about it for a while, there ARE people just that stupid in this worthless world. I'd believe it, just cuz it's funnier that way. ;D

this is totally believable. a friend of mine used to work at the help center at gateway. he told me that numerous people called in to report a broken cupholder (they were referring to the CDROM!), one guy threw his monitor out of a window in frustration, and one lady said that she was pumping her computer but it was not starting (she had placed the mouse on the ground and tried to pump it like a sewing machine pedal).

yeah... people are fakkin dumb.... one guy tried to put RAM, Disks, Cds, and anything that needed to go into the computer in the slot-load CD drive.

This was on [ H]ardOCP earlier

I don't know what to say about him. 😀

I remembered by that time of the year, RDRAM has to be installed in pairs, how did he get 384mb of RDRAM really puzzles me, 192MB x2 doesn't seem to be available even today ?

2x128+2x64MB.

I enjoyed how the mods kept complaining about the hits causing the server to slow down and how they should lock the thread while secretly they were thinking about what they would do with the money they'd make off of advertising later on due to the unbelievably heavy traffic the site gets 😉 It also killed me how the Brits kept trying to say we Yanks were the only ones who would bite on the story, heck we are twice as cynical as they are.

Haha, that's almost as bad as the fellow who dropped a bucket of water on his PC and blamed AMD for his error. I think it was Dr Smarts or something? lmao! 😀
One of my favorite stories around here! He had to put the fire out so he threw water on it 😀

I found the thread by Doc smarts who changed his user name to x86 (notice he was a spamming troll so his story was BS too I'm certain) I thought it would be fun for newer members who never saw it to have a look 🙂 link to good laugh 🙂

In the explaination thread linked above one of the mods said jokingly he was sure only their American cousins were taken in, and another mentioned that when the Americans started posting was when he lightened up, relax, no one is insulting Brits 🙂 Just pointing out that just because many IPs veiwing the thread were from the states by no means indicates gullibility 😉

Darn it, they closed the site to general traffic. I was just trying to show a friend....anyone know of a mirror? 🙂
