As the summary says, I got to see Underworld Evolution last night at a pre-screening. A friend of mine won tickets and invited me.

First thing's first. If you liked the first Underworld movie, you will like this one. If you didn't like the first movie, you won't like this one. Plain and simple.
I highly suggest anyone who is going to watch this movie should see the first movie first. Evolution begins immediately after the first movie ends. There is very little time gap. They do a quick one or two minutes of flashbacks to get people up to speed, but it really does help to have seen the first movie recently before watching this one. It just makes more sense that way.
OK, to avoid giving any spoilers, I'll just give a few opinions on what I saw.
Nudity. Yes, there is nudity. Not a whole lot of Kate Beckinsale. Near the beginning there is a soft-core porn type scene of her and Michael Corvin. Not much is shown really, is very soft-core... Later in the movie there is another scene with two hot vampire chicks, one mostly nude, the other in bra/panties. Considering how lots of movies these days cut out the nudity, at least the movies I've been watching, I'm glad they had it in this one. Granted, it didn't help the plot very much, but this isn't a plot-heavy type of movie in the first place.
Blood and gore. Way more than the first movie. Lots of heads flying, blood spraying, etc. At some points it seems to be a bit much, but in the end, I didn't walk away feeling like they went overboard too far...
Plot. What plot? I guess they just jumped in and started killing eachother. Though it does tie in well with the first movie. It's mostly vampires and warewolves killing eachother though, and that's that. Not sure why anyone who saw the first movie would expect much else though.
Sequel. Yep, they left it wide open for one. Heck, they practically announced a sequel...
Anyway, I hope this movie does well. I personally would like to see a 3rd in the series. I'm a big fan of any movie with sword fighting and stuff, and I tend to be a minority in discussions about movies... oh well. I hope others enjoy the movie though! I plan to see it again in the theater with my girlfriend since she liked the first one too.
