Undervolting the AMD X2

I'm trying to look into an cheap, efficient powerhouse for my carputer. I'm having trouble finding AMD EE 35 watt processors. So, my question would be if it's possible to undervolt a 65 watt X2 3800 to 35 watt voltage specs to achieve the same power consumption.

I'm limited to 96 watts total, the less I can use the better.

Anyone know?

I believe that the 65W 3800+ actually uses well under 65 Watts anyway. And yes, you can undervolt the 65W version. Most people recommend RMClock to do it.

You can undervolt, but that depends on the motherboard, same as overclocking results depend largely on the motherboard as well.

96 watts is easily possible, probably even without undervolting, as long as you use integrated graphics, but with a graphics card you'll have trouble staying under 96W.

Check out silentpcreview.com lots of people there undervolt, also check out their review of the passive external PSU (basically looks like a notebook PSU but works with normal PCs, the PC they used for testing also drew less than 100W).
