Undervolting Dangerous?

Just curious. I have an xp2100+ tbred and the specs say 1.65 volts. However, I undervolted it to 1.575 volts. Also, I overclocked it to 1.97ghz (151*13, almost a 2400.) As of now, I have been running prime95 for about four to five hours with no errors as of yet. It seems to be pretty stable. The temps are about 3-4 degrees cooler than I was running at 1.65v (I use PcAlert 3 to monitor temps and voltage.) As if that were enough, my cheap power supply undervolts the chip a little more, staying at a constant 1.55v. Just out of curiousity, is this dangerous at all or is it okay to undervolt? Thanks again for all your replies.

I have undervolted several AMD chips before because the drops in core temps are nice. Never had any problems. You can only extend the life of the processor IMHO which I beleive is estimated at 10years.

Undervolting should not damage the CPU. It does put the CPU closer to instability if lowered too much

Thanks. I'm going to see the lowest voltage I can hit with it being stable then. I want to keep this baby alive (unlike the 1800+ I just recently fried.) Thanks again.
