Undervolting an 8320

I have an AMD FX-8320 I'm currently using for mining. It's running undervolted at 3Ghz 1.0v.

I'm interested in knowing what's your experience with these chips, at about what voltage I can run stable @ default clock (3.5ghz) or if I can go lower than 1v @ 3Ghz.

Default settings are 3.5Ghz 1.4v

Thats a pretty high default value. It actually depends on motherboard and manufacturer but typically the range is 1.3375 to 1.3875v. I have a gigabyte and its set at 1.35V for default. 1.4V enables me to easily run up to 4.2Ghz.

I'd say if you got yours down to 1.0V and its stable you did pretty good. Only way of knowing how low you can go is to test it and make sure its stable, same as overclocking.

Question is, you made it with 3ghz at 1.0v with offset mode (-0.4v) or with constant voltage? The former should be hard to achieve, because you will be pushing the other pstates' clocks way too much.

Thats why Im currently with 3.5ghz at 1.3v (-0.1v offset). I will try different UV profiles and then try to turn them into different Pstates via software, and leave the BIOS settings to mess with the LLC and RAM settings.
