Try this..... Don't shut it down. Your new boot up times will amaze you. Plus you can be crackig RC5 24/7. I haven't shut mine down for weeks. Wait I shut it down to install a new hard drive a few weeks ago.

One way to really significatly reduce the boot time for Win 2k is to use the Hibernate feature. In my computer (Coppermine 600, 128 MB ram) it takes 17 seconds to boot up completely. Now that is outstanding. The other cool part is that it takes you right where you left off.

the biggest factor in boot up times is probably the hard drive. Make sure your hard drive is a fast one:)
