Matt Dillon is definitely underrated IMO. He was so good in Something About Mary, I can't picture him as anything else, lol.

I think Keanu Reeves gets a lot of flack for no reason. He is fairly underrated. While, not the greatest actor, he is far more than the Bill and Ted wrap that has stuck with him.

I'm going to go with Brie Larson. She's played some silly movies and done well in them I should add, but her acting chops are on full display on Short Term 12. Outstanding movie, outstanding actress.

The way i see it, the Matrix killed keanu reeves acting career, he was pigeon hole to play the same character in every movie. He was great in John Wick. But while watching the movie, I kept thinking "go neo beating the bad guys".

Same problem with Tom Cruise.

My underrated actor is Matthew mcconaughey, he should have won something for his role in mud.

Keanu should have never done Matrix 2 and 3. He always has that flat delivery. But I imagine maybe was a contract.

Tom Cruise seems to be bouncing back pretty nicely these days to me.

They both make a ton more money than i do so I really can't get too critical :p

Brendan Gleeson (See any McDunnough movie he's in)
Timothy Spall (See "All or Nothing")
Dylan Baker (See Happiness)
Kevin Costner - well, he's a box office draw but not viewed as very talented, but I think he's had some great smaller performances

John Cusack

Another Actor I like who probably doesn't get a lot of credit.

Watched Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil earlier and liked it myself, was really surprised when I got to the end credits saw Clint Eastwood directed that.

It didn't seem like something he would direct.

Jack Black. I hate him in almost everything, but Bernie was great! It really opened my eyes about the guy's acting chops. He's seriously under-utilized in his other movies where he always plays the same wacky and/or out of control guy. I'll probably continue hating him in almost everything just because it's very unlikely that he'll ever get another role where he can spread his wings like that.

Wow. That's not how The Dude abides. Such range! :awe:

I actually get a kick out of Jack Black.

I liked him in the King Kong remake, and I know you have been watching The Brink.

Or should be if you like him.
