Hi,

I need someone with a bit of time on their hands to type out all the timing and other settings I need to put into my BIOS to underclock my 800Mhz RAM to 667Mhz. Basically just a list of "make that x value" because I'm trying out something and need somewhere to start.

Many thanks to whoever can do this :)

Btw running Asus P5N-D with 2x4Gb 800Mhz RAM on Vista Home 64

Go to the "Advanced" tab.

Choose "JumperFree Configuration".

Set "AI Tuning" to Manual.

Choose "FSB & Memory Config".

Set the "FSB - Memory Clock Mode" to Unlinked.

Change the "Actual MEM (DDR), MHz" value to 667.

Save and exit by pressing F10. Just leave your "Memory Timing Settings" to Auto. The standard values for tCL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS-CMD on DDR2 800 or 667 RAM are 5-5-5-15-2. Other standard values are 5-5-5-15-18-2 and 6-6-6-18-2. Agressive settings are 4-4-4-12-2.

You my friend are an absolute genius/ life saver!

Why I'm doing this is because I keep getting the dreaded "display adapter nvlddmkm stopped responding" crash which has made everything unplayable. I've tried every other method under the sun and this was my last resort, and it seems to have fixed it! So many many thanks!

That's strange. It's possible when your RAM was at DDR2 800 speeds that it was undervolted, which could cause problems.
