UnderClocking an Athlon 1.6 XP

Hello

I have an Abit KT7A-Raid M/b revision 1.1 which as you already know cant be flashed higher than an Athlon 1.2Gb cpu.

My question is can i put a Athlon xp 1.6 in that board and just run it at 1.2?? or can i overclock it up till say 1.4 or higher?? or will a Duron 1.3 be better underclocked?? Any ideas? or is it a new motherboard purchase?

From what I've heard, the earlier revisions are generally ok with the AXP. Check out the KT7 faq. The issue they mention with earlier boards & AXP's is pretty minor if it occurs at all.
