Yeah, no OCing here. :)

What I am trying to do is lower the multiplier on my A7V133 Mobo and boosting the FSB to 133 so my 1gig T-bird 200mhz can still run at 1gig but utilize the 266mhz bus. I have already unlocked the L1 Bridges on my CPU and everything seems to be doing fine.

Problem is that today when I turned on my comp for the first time my Monitor did not want to come on, I had to reset the bios, or at least I think I reset the bios (odd thing was on that was that all my settings that I had chenged in the bios was still there, ie. the multiplier was still at 750 and the FSB was at 133 among other things) but eventually my computer started working again.

Does this have anything to do with my setup? Any suggestions on how to keep it from doing that again?

Any help would be great!

In the bios for the A7V you can set the RAM to 133 while leaving the CPU alone. There are three settings all in a row. First is multiplier, then fsb which affects the CPU speed, then the third which will not affect it. Try and change that last one to 133. You'll see it when you change it, then CPU speed won't change.

There are supposed to be 2 ways of doing what your trying to do. One is when you do the settings on the motherboard, as far as cpu settings, they need to be done all by switches(jumpers) or all by the bios. You can't use a combination of the 2. And the other was by messing with some other bridges on your cpu, I'm looking for a reference but I cant find one. Someone will.

So I should leave the Multiplier at 10x, the CPU Freq. at 100, and the DRAM Freq. at 133 in order to take advantage of the 266 FSB?

At first I had the Multiplier at 7.5x, the CPU Freq. at 133 and the DRAM Freq. at 133 to produce 1gig and to take advantage of the 266 FSB......

So unlocking the L1 Bridges was a waste of time? :)

Yeah I understand that, but Have run this at 140FSB before (it is an AXIA) without issues. My problem now is that I am trying to make the Box as quiet as possible meaning I will probably not have sufficient enough cooling to keep it at 1.4 or even 1.33, I am comfortable with using it at 1gig but I really want to be able to utilize the 266 FSB.

Yeah, but I have an Asus A7V133 which the article says should not have any problems. Like I said, I can get it to post, but this morning nothing would happen.....

you're not really underclocking... you're still overclocking, in fact.

you need the multiplier at 7.5 and fsb at 133. just setting your ram to 133 isn't going to be all that helpful, cuz although your ram will have more bandwidth your processor won't and async mode introduces lots of latency. just check and make sure your settings are still right. since you're trying to use a standard FSB speed the board probably has jumpers for it, so you can try that way instead of BIOS.

on asus a7v133 there must be a jumper for switching between 200MHz and 266MHz cpu support
you should set it on 266 MHz cpu and then change the multiplier on 7,5 and fsb on 133MHz
you should try changing multiplyer and fsb in the bios setup, but if it doesn't work then you should set the jumper on jumper mode and use the dipswitches to change the multiplyer to 7,5 and fsb to 133

this is all in theory, i don't have any experience in this, cause i have a7v and i am not familiar with a7v133
