Major network TV is so screwed up... they show body parts all over the place, but the sex scene in the beginning didn't even show any side boob. :)

Rule #1 of sticking around is you can't reveal the shows secrets the first episode.

But it's probably nothing serious about the whole propane thing as it sounded like the town was going broke so probably set up some kind of storage facility for them to bring in extra income.

He's so damn fun to watch. WTF...

Think I might tune into this. Not like anything else is on over the summer.

Hmm, so a cow gets split in two clean equal parts, but then they show the barn with a 12" jagged cut down the middle...

I was waiting for the BBQ scene with that propane that they stockpiled.
I also see they got a Mr. Burns, waiting for a homer & lisa to make a showing, then it could be a remake of the simpsons episode! ;)

^First thing that popped in my head after seeing the preview was the Simpsons movie.

I'll be checking it out, but based on the premise, I see it getting cancelled at the end of the season, if not before.

First episode was decent, but again, I really think this may work better as a mini series.

Oh and
...why didn't anyone try to dig under it yet?

It's been a year or two since I read the book but at some point they come to the conclusion that the dome is a sphere.

Yup, I think they even detected a seismic event when it cuts through the bed rock.

I forgot to set the DVR, anyplace I can see the first episode?

I only watched the previews, but I had to wonder...
So did the sphere cut through all the gas, water, sewer, electric services? Do they happen to have enough green stuff to supply the needed oxygen?
And in the preview, it appeared to land..kicking up dirt near the cows. Did it land or did it form in place?

I read it too, just curious what the characters are going to be like. Movies rarely live up, I can't imagine how far short a tv production will fall short.

How has it been reviewed?

I'm a fan of Stephen King and all, but hopefully it doesn't suck as much as most Stephen-King-on-TV stuff.

The show seems medium budget, which is OK. The premiere was also OK, not spectacular, but enough so that I'll give it a solid 5 episodes before I decide if I'll continue to watch after that.

It did cut the power off they made a point where the power lines and such were cut where the sphere landed as they had the various police calls about it.

As for everything else we will have to get in a few episodes I am guessing.

Also they made it look like it landed as it cut the stuff in half that was in the way.

Saw the episode last night; didn't know at the time that Stephen King had written the book, but it seemed very Stephen Kingish, so that was no surprise.

Just now went over to wikipedia, read the synopsis of the book. There, I won't have to watch the rest of the series. :)
