What do you use for your under cabinet?

What is your like & dislike about them?

What would you like to change or improve?

I?m tempted to build my own under kitchen cabinet lights using fluorescent T2 tubes (1/4 inch thick) or bricks of LED, because I?m unhappy with the limited availability of products in my area. Another solution I?m looking at is using 12 or 24 volts xenon lamps, but that also uses transformer (hum) like fluorescent and it does get warm. Halogen is another possibility however it is too warm for my liking.

All suggestions are welcome?including trolling

What ever you do, don't use Fluorescent. Nothing makes food look worse.

I have low voltage halogens now and they are much better.

Small round halogens which can be found at Home Depot and the like (around $30 for 5) have worked well for me.

I prefer the 20w 120 volt version, as they can be dimmed; a really nice effect at night.




edit: The 12v version can also be dimmed, but it's a bit more work and expense.
