Under $300 upgrade from Moto X (2nd Gen, 2014) ?

Someone I know wants to upgrade phones.
16GB is running low and phone freezing up.

I suggested my phone (Moto X Pure 2015)
I only paid $289 for it a year ago (Amazon Warehouse)
but it actually costs MORE in 2017 ($350)
So, forget that.

Pure is too big for them anyway.
5.2" is preferred over 5.7"

They want 32GB.

Ideally, Android 6, right?

Any ideas in the $200 to $300 range?

Galaxy S6 too old now?

Best Buy seems to have lots of Moto G offerings.

It seems perfect.

The above phone only has 2GB RAM.
I think 3GB RAM is worthwhile.

Yea, Moto G (5th) with 64GB and 4GB RAM at $299 seems legit.
After some more reading, it seems like this is best in class at this price point.
Not sure what the next price point up even is, but if it's $500+, this G (5th) will be the pick.

Best you can get for ~$350 IMO, although they were ~$300 a week ago.

Went with the Moto G5+ with 64GB and 4GB RAM for $299.
Should be good for several years.
