So here it comes

Antec SLK3000B - 44.04 (Provantage.com)
Seasonic S12-430 - 107 (Newegg)
KCS KN1 extreme - 115 (Zipzoomfly)
AMD 3000+ Winchester - 135 (Newegg)
Thermalright XP-90 - 32.23 (SVcompucycle) (no fan)
G.Skill (512Mbx2) - 104.32 (Newegg)
Leadtek 6600 128Mb - 109 (Newegg)
Maxtor MAXLine III 300 Gb SATA - 232.99 (colamco)
Zalman VF700Cu - 35 (Jab-Tech)
92mmNexus+120mmNexus - 36.33 (Coolerguys)

Total = 950.91 (Shipped and taxed)

I am not going to overclock this computer. I will play games but not too many, it's in my bedroom so it has to be silent (reasonably silent, that is). I already have monitor, keyboard, mouse and optical drive.
Comments/suggestions ?

Thanks.

Consider a Seagate brand drive, for me they have always been more quiet than my other brand drives.

I have a similar setup... After you take care of the NB fan (which usually spins at some insane ludicrous speed until you put it on a fan controller), it should definitely be quiet enough that you can sleep at night.

Good luck!

thanks for the input
wisdomtoot, I was actually wondering about the NB. Can I just take it off and put a passive NB heatsink (the zalmann comes to mind) ?

The ECS stock NB fansink actually looks pretty beefy-- It's a nice orb-type sink. I think it would actually work better than the Zalman. Just put it on a fan controller and you should be in quiet heaven. ;)

Good luck!
