Undelete programs

I'm looking for an undelete program to get back some files that were lost when I ran a recovery cd for a Toshiba laptop with Win 2k and it formatted the drive. Any help appreciated.

I saw something on this...has anyone ever used this before? I'm just wondering if it's worth $80 if it may not even find the file I need.

the reason i posted is because i've used it - its simply awesome.
i needed to recover some files - when I used this program i was able to recover all the files i needed plus all the files that were on that harddrive up to 2 partitions ago.

You've got to be kidding me!!!!! :Q :Q :Q :Q
No way.. 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁
How come I didn't know about that program...

I've lost about 400 digital pictures that were priceless to me
and almost had a heart attack because of that...
If I only new about that program back then...
I accidently reformatted the drive without backing up those pics. 😱 🙁 🙁

that is exactly what i am saying. this program is capable of restoring even off of the formatted drive and even if the drive was formatted several times.

I'll try it tonight. The only thing is.. I think, I reloaded
Windows twice after that but I still have hope... 🙂

Spasibo, teska 😉 🙂

Can it get past 0's being written to the drive? And if so how many levels?

Not only can it get past the 0's, it can recover things you pushed backspace on and never saved. It can even recover things that you haven't even thought of yet.

How can it recover data if its been formatted twice? I am a bit skeptical of data being recovered once its been written over without physical magnetic analysis. Please do let us know how it works techietam.

Well formating a HD does not write over all of it. It just adds the needed info to be able to logicaly write to it. There are alot of programs that can do this becuase the data is still there...

Now for the 0s I don't know. The gov't can recover somewhere around 7-12 layers. So you can write over it that meany times and its still good. But I am not sure how this is done. I don't know if they have to open the drive for it...

Done!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀
Recovered every single picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you, MrOleg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀
I feel like I won a lot of $$$$ 🙂 🙂 🙂

I paid $55 for the one that does NTFS and FAT.
The other one is $25 but it only does FAT.

🙂 Excellent. I'm glad you have all your stufff back.
How many scans did you have to do for NTFS?

Thanks.

🙂 Priyatno znat' chto zdes' tozhe est' Oleg krome menya. 😉

Actually, here is the story:

I had those pictures on my 10K RPM drive originally. After I got 15K RPM drive,
I moved all of them to a new drive and deleted from the old one. It was about
4 month ago.

When I scanned my 15K drive, it didn't find those pics, so I decided to scan my
10K which was written to all over 10's of times but has never been formatted,
instead of trying my 15K drive again.
It said that it found 76.4GB of possibly recoverable data on the 18GB drive 😀 😀 😀

I can't really say how good it can do after format, since I haven't tried second scan
of my 15K drive, but I have to say that it did bring option to recover files that were
on the drive before format. It didn't show those pics, since it was from 2 formats ago
But I didn't do the second scan to check that out.

One thing I have to tell you, though... As soon as I recovered those pics I copied
them to a CD 3 seconds later 😀 😀 😀

Thanks again, Oleg! 😉 🙂

yeah, i was pretty shocked when it showed me aproximately 3 times the size of the hardrive of recoverable data.
and imagine my sureprise when i saw that that data was on the drive before i even bought it (used) and formatted it.

Were there any home made movies from the previous owner?
You know... Those triple-X rated home videos..? 😀 😀

pretty much...lol. not home made though.

lol, Now make sure not to say who you got it from. 😛

Hey any of you have time to put some files on a HD then write 0s to it once. And see if you can recover it. Then do it again and again until you can't get it anymore? I might get this if it can go pretty far down. I have a HD that has had 0's wrote to it twice and there are some really old programs I wrote that I would like to take a look at.

Re. R-Studio. You can DL a trial copy that will list what can be recovered - but not actually recover. For that, you have to pay 🙂 .
