Uncooperatinve Rosewill SATA/USB adapter

Hey all,

I have one of these, which I purchased years ago and have not used recently. I managed to find the pieces and set it up to try to get some short-term access to a couple of hard drives. The system sees them but they always show as "Uninitialized" in the Disk Manager.

It's older than Windows 7, which is what I'm using (64-bit) but for something like this I wouldn't have thought it would matter. (ETA: Reviews indicate people using it with Windows 7.)

Any ideas?

Okay, apparently it didn't like being plugged into a USB 3.0 port. (I didn't expect it to run faster, it was just more convenient.)

Okay, thought it was all figured out, but I have two identical drives, one works great and the other isn't recognized at all in Disk Manager. Ideas?

ETA: Okay, now neither drive will show up. This thing must be pretty flaky. :/

I'm punting on this and going a different route. If a mod sees this, you can lock it.
