Uncomfortable with air con and computer on same out let. Thought on pow regulation.

So i have a window AC and a computer in the same room, and this room has only one grounded outlet on its own circuit. I have been meaning to get a power regulator of some kind on this outlet. Probably this one at amazon:

Will this protect my computer if the power strip is plugged in to the top out let on the panel, and the AC is on the other outlet? Ideally from a technical standpoint, i could/should just drop another outlet to that wall when i put in the Ethernet outlets, but if possible id like to avoid having three things all in that one spot.

What do you think? Thanks in advance for your input.

oh, and if it matters, the AC unit is only about 5000 or 6000 BTUs. That should give you a rough estimate of the kind of surges it might be putting out.

I think a good UPS would be your best option. Make sure its Line-interactive. This will ensure your system gets good clean power even during the short period in which the AC may cause a brownout situation starving the PC of power while it's compressor kicks in. The built in surge suppressor that all good UPS's have should guard against the impending surge that could happen after the compressor has engaged.
