I suppose this will sit pretty well with the Blame America crowd, and I must say that the timing is perfect: broadcasted several days after the recent major bombings in Iraq.

Anybody wants to complain about "Axis of Evil" remarks?

EDIT: got the chronology wrong; fixed.

To Googer who said---Oh, shut up and quit blaming America.

You got a mighty thin skin here----its called a double standard---its one thing to see the flaws in others.
Its quite another thing to avoid having the same flaws with oneself that one sees in other.

One little cartoon---and you go bonkers.

But when we say they bombed something, we usualy have proof to back it up. We just don't go around intentionally telling a lie like the cartoon does, we condemn the bombing of innocents.

I said intent. The problem there was, we gave Saddam an ultimatum: Let the weapon inspectors in and your regime will stay intact or choose to delay/deny the inspections and your country will be invaded. Saddam chose the later of the two. So instead of UN inspections the US had to do the inspections. And there was good reason to be suspicious and that's based on Saddam's own track record. This whole Iraq war could have been avoided if Saddam hadn't refuesed the initial inspection offer. His own life could have been spared and my family members would not be over there right now risking their lives.

Blame Saddam not Bush. We cannot leave untill Iraq is a peaceful place in better condition than when we came in or else we will be back again in dozen years to correct the problem we left behind; so fix it now and get it done for good!

When you are going to invade and occupy a country and say it's for our own national security being mistaken is not an option though apologists like you consider it one.

Well, we are blaming them for bombings as well.
Maybe because they are planting car bombs to undermine our mission in Iraq. Uncle Sam has many methods for killing people, but car bombings is more a tactic used by terrorist nutjobs.

Propoganda in the Muslim world is quite disturbing.

No apologies at all, I am not sorry nor am I trying to make an excuse for what happened. Just pointing out that the cards were on Saddam's table and he chose to invasion over inspection.

Our national security at the time was concerned with the unknown storage of chemical weapons. We really wanted to avoid an invasion and were pushing for UN inspections that were not working. This left us with only one other viable option to make sure that the chemical weapons we knew were there in 1998 (or 1996?) were still in their place.

The fact that we could not find them when we went in in 2003 is slightly alarming to me.

And just for the record: At the time, I was not in favor of an invasion and I really wanted for saddam to allow UN inspectors to do their job with out the Typical interferance he usualy puts on them. But now that we are there, we must stay to clean up any mess that we made in someone else's home.

I have seen a lot of political cartoons far worse than this, get some thicker skin. BTW: One cartoon does not represent the a whole country.

Could that be because they're actively, openly supporting such bomings?

It's on Iranian TV. American leaders don't bomb cars to attack our society. They feed us their own lies on Faux and shred our Constitution and, instead. :(

For SOME reason? For every reason, almost every major problem we're facing does come back to the Bushwhackos.

Hmmm. Car bomb v. Stealth bomber. I see zero difference, except one levels entire villages, and the other cost only a few hundred dollars. They are both devastating terror weapons.

True, but how often does the American military deploy a stealth bomber to deliberately level an entire village?

If anything, through the use of smart bombs and other technologies, our military makes a concerted effort to utilize precision strikes against enemy targets while minimizing civilian casualties...sure mistakes are made, but our doctrine and operating procedures quite specifically state that civilian or noncombatant casualties should be avoided at all costs.

Car bombs, on the other hand, are designed to specifically cause civilian casualties.

See the distinction?
