unclaimed monies from the govt!!!--found out its FHA loan

slag

Lifer
EDIT. Found out its monies owed to us from when we owned our first home.. Its money we paid into an FHA loan that is due to us. How can I get that money from the FHA loan fund without having to pay someone 20 percent to get it for me?

In the past 2 weeks, we have received 4 letters from people letting us know that the govt owes us $1561.xx. With these letters comes a contract that basically says we agree to pay the person x% of the total amt owed and that we owe that money only after the govt cuts us a check for the amount specified.

As stated before, we have received 4 of these in the past 2 weeks and the amount in each is the same. What is different however, is the percentage people are asking for.

The first letter we received asked for 40%. The second asked for 25%. The third asked for 30%, and the last which came today, asked for 20%. They are all coming from different parts of the country.

Where are people finding out what they think the govt owes us (Same exact monetary figures), and why are we all of a sudden getting these notices?

It's probably just the next 'get rich quick' scheme. I've seen infomercials for similar things on lately; hell, I've even seen infomercials talking about making money from some kind of unhandled court cases deal, or something like that.

no they are actually legit, but you can do it for free...each state has an internet site that will let you search.

Yeah, you're probably entitled to some money from a lawsuit settlement or something similar. I got my college all but paid for because of a tobacco lawsuit settlement.

also check other states that you've lived in, and possibly even other states that you've done business with in....I know it might take an hour but if you are actually owed that much money, it's worth it!

I've never lived in another state and havent done business in any others either.. its wierd

The only thing I can think of is my previous house had some crummy siding on it but according to the documentation I read back then, I was not eligible for any monies from it.
