UNCHARTED : The Nathan Drake Collection was announced today and will be out on October 9, 2015 retailing at $60. It will feature the 3 PS3 titles (single player only but you will get access to Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta) 1080p 60 fps and enhanced lighting, textures, and models. Here's the announcement trailer (no gameplay though):

It seems like there's been a bunch of remasters of last gen titles (Last of Us, GTA V, GOW 3, even Sleeping Dogs) but I'm not against it as long as it doesn't hold developers up from making new games. The Uncharted games actually seem like a good choice for a remaster since a lot of PS4 owners never had a PS3 and Uncharted was the franchise for the PS3.

I've played through all the Uncharted games once and the remaster is something I'll probably pick up when it's around $20 and I feel like playing again. Most likely though I'll play a little of 1 and 3 just to experience the remaster and play through 2 in it's entirety since that was the easily the best. The first game I remember being really hard at times and I'm more interested in seeing how the mechanics are improved than playing through again. The third was good but I've played it more recently and while it was a really good game the second was just so good it was almost impossible to follow up with something as good or better.

Remasters are more for people who missed out last gen. Still the visual upgrade (slight in some cases) is nice.

I'm with you, i'll play through again when it's cheaper. This should be similar to The Last of Us remaster I'd think in terms of quality. I did buy last of us remaster because that game's story was much more emotionally gripping than Uncharted.

i'm a huge uncharted fan but couldn't care less about this. if i wanted to play those games, i'd buy them and play them right now. but i alerady played through all of them and they offer no replayability to me so i doubt i'll ever play them again.

I didn't own PS3 so never played an Uncharted games. I have a PS4 though so I'll definitely pick it up and play through it before tackling 4. I appreciate remasters so I can play the graphically upgraded version of the best games I missed out on from PS3, I loved Last of Us Remastered.

I've never played a single minute of any of the Uncharted games, so I'll be all over this... Eventually.

Just not in October. There are too many other games coming out in that timeframe. I'm sure I'll pick up the Uncharted Collection at a good price in the spring. 🙂

I played all 3, but it's been a long time and I just got rid of my ps3. So I'm looking forward to this release and will be buying the collection.

The downside about this is that they are supposedly removing the multiplayer from 2 & 3, and incorporating a Beta Multiplayer for 4 just in case anyone is interested in buying this.

Edit: Talking about inside the remaster product 🙂

Never understood the appeal of uncharted? It nothing more than a rental.

The gameplay and control is refined and solid. The characters are relatable for the situation. The voice acting is phenomenal. The gun play is good. The story makes sense even if it doesn't interest you.

The game is solid all around.

Nice - when I get a PS4 I'll pick this up, however I'm hoping it'll be at a lower price. 30-35 dollars sure...60 dollars...mehhhhhhh.
I don't think GOW Remaster and ICO Remaster even launched with that price.

And of COURSE it takes time away from devs to work on other games - nothing is trivial 🙂 But given I missed out on the entire series, I'd be down for this.
