Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is silly.

I'll spend 10-20 minutes deciphering clues on how to unlock a secret passage that hasn't been found for almost 500 years, and once I do, I find that behind this passage is another swarm of mercenaries. This makes no sense. Also, if the bad guy can afford to buy a massive army to protect him, why does he need gold?

Other than that, great game.

Alternate entrance?

Mercs might only get paid the rest of their fee after the gold is retrieved (so he is counting on the gold to help pay them)?.

Hello. I really enjoyed the game up till german U Boat, I really really liked where they were going with it but then then the zombies and the humugnous army of men this treasure hunter has made it "silly." I wish they had the german army doing experiments or something on the island and made it top secret and therefore that would explain the huge army of men.

I thought the zombies fit in, and it was amazingly fun blasting through those hordes. It brought me back to the Alien vs Predator II days as a Marine... "Die motherf***ckers! Die!"🙂.

Hope they make a sequel. Different island hopefully.

I totally agree with the mercs showing up in areas that you are supposedly unlocking for the first time. It's lame, and it would have been nice to just find a way into some previously "undiscovered" area and not have a bunch of guys swarm on you, but I guess that's why it's a challenge.

As for the guy with the massive army, rich people always seem to want more, no matter how much they already have, welcome to Human Nature 101.

I havent thought about it for awhile but from what I remember the rich guy is a treasure hunter as well, and they were both looking for the treasure. Drake was racing to find it, but the other guy had more resources. It wasnt unreasonably to assume that the bad guy would be further along in the quest. They might not understand the clues or what not, but they would be around looking for them. I remember it being annoying, but it wasnt too bad. I probably would have been happy with no pirates....the puzzles and platforming was fun enough.

LOL, you've got a point about the hidden areas being full of bad guys, but I never noticed it because...

uncharted is one of my favorite single player experiences of the past few years.

this is how I feel about the game as a whole. It's like watching a summer, blockbuster action-movie, except you're playing it and it actually works as a game! Awesome game, would rent it again (i don't know if I'd pay 59.99 to own it though..)

Yeah, sometimes you just have to look past the stupid stuff. Take most tv shows and movies for instance, if you nitpick every unrealistic and idiotic part, no way anybody can enjoy it. Uncharted is a fantastic game, one of the best ones in a very long time.

I echo most of the sentiments in this thread... nearly everywhere you went in the game, somebody beat you to it.
I didn't care for the zombie bit.
And it was too short, definitely not worth $60 for the 8.5 hours it took me to get through it on normal difficulty. Lots of fun, though, probably a great rental.
