Can I jump right into #2 or is the original a must. I have limited time with the PS3 w/ the roomie gone, so trying to maximize.

edit: d'oh, this should be in console.

I never even heard of the first one when I started playing #2. Uncharted 2 is very good. I rarely finish games but I did with this one. It feels like you are in a movie.

I've only played part 1, and I enjoyed it quite a bit until the really retarded turn in the plot. I won't ruin it, but if the 2nd has done away with such a stupid thing then you might as well just play the 2nd and ignore the one with the dumb story.

I never finished Uncharted 1, but Uncharted 2 was fantastic. You will be fine playing Uncharted 2 first.

If you skip the original, you'll miss out on the storyline/character establishment, which in my mind is what makes Uncharted such an excellent game (for what is essentially a Lara Croft-less Tomb Raider). Necessary? Not at all, but I'm sure I enjoyed the experience of both games more for having played them in order.

I don't know why you are saying this. Uncharted 2's story gets retarded at certain parts of the game too, and even more so than the first, imo.

Yetis, fighting an attack chopper, a village of primitives armed with crossbows fighting an army armed with modern weapons, fighting tanks in the village. If this isn't just as or any more retarded than zombie Nazis, then I don't know what is.

Once you've played Uncharted 2 it's going to be difficult to go to the first one, mainly because of the improvements they made in gameplay.

Though you could just head over to wikipedia and read up on the plot, I would say play it if you have the time because it's great.

Completely over the top action is one thing, and is something I went in expecting for this game. What I didn't expect was a stupid zombie tie in that came out of left field that seemed to be just shoved in there because zombies are big right now. It made no sense, had no place, and was just as bad as the alien BS in the new Indiana Jones. It ruined the end of the game for me, which may sound silly but that's how it is.

But what about the previous Indiana Jones movies? Everyone of them makes use of the supernatural as part of their stories. I don't know, given that it's a common theme for treasure hunting stories I was neither surprised nor disappointed by a similar theme in the first Uncharted. I thought it made for a nice change of pace in the game.

same. didnt like the demo for 1. absolutely loved 2.

heh same here. I remember I didnt like the demo so havent played the first one. I bought the recent PS3 deal that came with Uncharted 2 and it turned out to be my all time favorite single player or at least best console game Ive played.

I played the hell out of Uncharted 2, I haven't played a game I enjoyed that much in a while. I just started playing Uncharted 1 and it is good but Uncharted 2 is much better. My biggest gripe about 1 is that each enemy, unless you get a headshot, takes a whole lotta bullets to kill.

Stick with Uncharted 2 and don't look back.

Hey I have a question about Uncharted 2. Why does it take forever to play a co-op game? I had a friend with me and we sat there for 10 minutes in the load screen before we decided to call it quits.
