Hi people,

I have a Creative DVD 6x and DXr3 decoder. I am using the dvd player (beta) from the creative website. Uhm.. the disc is not scratched and I am using a fresh (well i haven't did much to it since i installed it) install of windows 2000 with sp2. Every other movie has playable so far (ie. cast away) but for some reason this one says NO!

It would play sometimes up to the menu and when i hit play the dvd software stops and freezes. Other times it would just freeze after a few seconds. Anyone know the reason for this odd behavior? Am using: ASUS p3bf, tnt2 ultra, sblive, dxr3 card, 3060 crap dsl modem (stupid verizon). Help please!

Edit: see my post below

all my movies do that for me... i've yet to get my dvd player to work... i've concluded that it's the drive and am going to RMA it back. But seeing as how you have played movies before and this one won't work i'm sure your drive is fine... have u set the region on your drive? That could be it

Yep my region has been set as 1. Hmm.. I have done some more searching but it seems that the Dxr3 board is identical to the Sigma Designs REALmagic Hollywood Plus Dvd decoder card.

Has anyone tried using the Hollywood Plus drivers instead of the creative stuff?

Hmm... I have found the problem to be in the dvd player software that was provided by Creative. All I have to do is keep pressing "next" until i get to the movie itself. Seems that they are falling behind in fixing stuff cuz their software is so old and still in beta.
