<rant> I'll tell ya, it is totally frickin' unreal. I have been hawking mwave, NewEgg, and ZZF for over 2 weeks now, since I have finally decided on the sound card I want (Chaintech AV-710), and when it comes into stock, it literally is out of stock again with 30 minutes--literally! Is this card THAT popular, or is it that Chaintech cannot supply enough cards? Ahhhhh! </rant>

PS--Nope, I refuse to even consider Creative. They could not write a driver to save their lives. Good hardware, but worst drivers I have ever seen.

Yep, which is why you use the Via drivers instead... Works beautifully....

If you use the Chaintech drivers off the disk, you bet ya. BUT, I would NEVER do that, since most of us geeky types will run right off and get the latest reference drivers off of VIAArena. The latest drivers are quite good, as well. Very stable.

Why do you want this card? wouldnt a Live 24bit be better & cheaper?

Thanks for the link, but their server appears to be down--or it is the slowest server on the planet.

The Live24 does not have optical out. Big disadvantage. If Creative had made the Live24 with at least Coax digital out, then I would consider it. I intend to use Logitech Z-5500's.

Just for a sanity check, I did a DSL Report to Linkline in LA from Chicago, and I get 258K. I am getting 850K to a server in Bloomington, IN. It is not my connection. It must be their server, or the routing to their server?

Anyone else having trouble with this link? Where is NCIX located?

Budman--you sure you aren't looking at a cached copy?

Interesting. Now all of the sudden their page comes up lightning fast. I dunno. Thanks for that link!

ICK! I saw they wanted about $17 for shipping. Not a good deal. A potential backup if I get desperate or something, but CHRIST! Well, they are in Canada, which explains it a bit. I would rather wait for ZZF and spend $21 less, or NewEgg and spend $23 less.

Regardless, thanks again!
