That is a great fall, but that's also one thing that sucks about the game. When you crash your body goes completely limp and lifeless. No trying to brace the fall or anything so it takes away lots of the realism.

Yeah, that's kind of stupid. You don't DIE just because you fell off a skateboard. I think Motorstorm is the same way. I don't want to watch some retarded crash sequence with my body flying through the air, I want to go back to racing.

True, but to the credit of the video, the skateboarded did smash his face into the billboard going at a decent speed, I'm sure it would knock someone at least unconscious allowing for the limp/ragdoll physics. :)

Now whether or not the dude's face should have been a part of the billboard and cut from the body...

they never say you die in the game
a limp body is actually less likely to have major injuries, as when you attempt to brace yourself, you likely are extending your arms and breaking them. unless you'd rather extend your arms and break them instead of your face, which would be me. But regardless, I agree about the lengthy animations as far as Motorstorm goes (i enjoy the game but the death flailing body sequences, and or car flying off the cliff, are way too long). But with Skate, it doesn't bother me as they don't tend to be long, not to mention I enjoy looking at what I may have bruised, sprained, or broken. They never imply you die, although some it's obvious. But with the types of falls in Skate, your pretty much guaranteed to break things (due to the size of the jumps and what not, falling is going to be very painful).

Never said they did... but your body acts like you did.

You may be less likely to suffer injuries (I have no idea if that's the case), but everyone tries to brace themselves anyway. It's just not natural. I agree that it's entertaining in Skate though, at least more so than in Motorstorm. But I've only ever played Motorstorm in stores, so I've only ever played one level.
