Newer Unreal engine demo
Unbelievable! I have never seen outdoor terrain look that good. I am sure the frame rates are Shiite, but it is still a glimps into what we will see in the next generation of 3d engines.

By the way, it's the same old Unreal Engine, but with several components replaced with better ones

So, it isn't a "new" Unreal engine. It's the old with some rewritten parts..

The skeletal animations look cool, I wonder if they'll ever create hand-to-hand combat type games with this thing? And have to agree, the outdoor terrain looks amazing! Only one bad thing, no new weapons seen

Right, no new weapons becasue it is just a demo of the , I guess we will call it the new "features" engine. I thought the terrain was awsome. I would love to see Terrain like that in Tribes 3.

Yeah, it's just the latest evolution of Unreal Tech. They say that they're using T&L to speed the outdoor stuff, so 3Defects is once again gonna be l00z1ng out with their "You don't need anything but what WE say you do!" attitude.

Well, to avoid the 3dfx v nvidia v ati, etc.. I think we should mention that they are claiming an average 25 FPS in the demo with a 1G and a GeForce2 card. So, unless they can make it a heck of a lot faster, NO video card or computer today is fast enough...especially once the frags start happening.

I wish they'd release it in runnable forum, instead of MPEG movie. Would be much more impressive (even if it runs under 10FPS on my GeForce SDR).
