The mods pay attention to it at least, some mod edited my 'Unban Shinerburke' line to 'Unban Whinerburke'. Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else think that's slightly out of line?
 
My only question when I see those "unban *" sigs is: Who is this person and why were they banned? Shinerburke is the one I see the most. And CadSortaGuy... What gives with them?

No idea about CadSortaGuy, but I asked the same thing about shinerburke some time ago. Got a few PM's and it seems he got into it with the mods about someone getting banned or not getting banned for some comments in the politics forum. Can't remember all the details. They sent me some links to pictures that he had posted out on his website or somewhere that told his side of the story. I'm sure someone still has links. Seemed like a lot of drama that nobody here knew much about or was willing to discuss openly for some reason.

In any case. The whole unban thing seems pointless. I get the protest aspect of it, just seems like a waste though. Sorta like laying down in front of an oncoming tank.

 
Sometimes the mods can be vindictive and ban a guy because they have a grudge against him... putting that in your sig probably doesn't affect how long they ban him for, but it at least lets them know if there are a lot of people who are pissed off about the banning, for what it's worth (not much).

I've had Ban Me in my sig for at least a year now and they haven't banned me yet.

I wouldn't say that it's completely because of signatures, but wasn't wduagnug unbanned at one point?

I see his a lot, probably more than others. Been seeing something about chuckywang to. That's what got me to thinking about it today. Seems like a waste of time.
