Do ya'll have the so called community leaders and/or preachers set up marches for today?

We have several down here for today and the leaders/preachers all said the same things such as:

* GZ killed an innocent child and did not get anything while Vick killed a dog and he received over 20 months jail sentence.

* Black lives are worth less than dogs.

* SYG is a bad law and we must repeal it.

Talk about ignorant of facts and evidences from the trial and cluelessness.

Another example of actual journalism putting together the facts of the story. Anyone still crying over little Trayvon should watch this.
They won't watch more than the first 30 to 60 seconds of it because it's like trying to drive a square peg into the round hole that is their brain.

The left benefits from dividing us. From labeling us as Black, as White or as the new moniker, White-Hispanic. Despite a black President, numerous black members of the administration, professional sports figures, CEO's, other black business owners, celebrities and the list goes on, the left benefits from perpetuating the myth that the white man is holding down the black man.

We will never be equal as long as the left exists. Because they will perpetuate by fabrication if need be that which keeps them in existence and for now, in power. They are the worst kind of evil. They disgust me.

I am going to brunch in the city with a lady friend and then we are going to grab some 40s and go watch the riots - hopefully not being assaulted for being a cracker.

Well said. Not just the left does this, divide and conquer, it's just predominantly a part of their rhetoric on social and economic issues.

Looks like the organizer (Quanell X) is going to have protests in the affluent neighborhood of River Oaks. Guess he feels that it's the rich whiteys fault GZ was acquitted. Maybe he thinks some donated to GZ's defense fund.

Looks like they will be prepared and I can't blame them.

The River Oaks patrol will be out and in force. And some residents are bringing in private security guards as well.

If their "peaceful" protest included striking a grandmother trying to get people out of the way to get her granddaughter to the hospital, who knows what may happen tomorrow.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People welcomed President Obama’s comments about Trayvon Martin and race in America on Friday.

“This is a powerful moment. That our president has been profiled should encourage all Americans to think deeply about both the depth of this problem and how our country moves beyond it,” NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous said in a statement.

Great, we can start by not deifying a violent drug ridden thug. Or by claiming the President was one.

When they can avoid stooping so low, we can start to figure they might not be racist anymore.

Trayvon Martin’s parents to lead protests over Zimmerman verdict

Trayvon Martin’s parents were due to lead demonstrations in New York and Miami on Saturday, as protesters across the country rallied to express anger over the acquittal of the man who shot and killed the unarmed black teenager.

The protests, outside federal court buildings and police headquarters, were set to take place exactly one week after a Seminole County jury in central Florida acquitted George Zimmerman of second-degree murder and manslaughter for shooting the 17-year-old Martin through the heart.

They were organized by the Reverend Al Sharpton, the veteran civil rights activist, days before President Barack Obama spoke extensively about the Martin case and highlighted its racial undertones in remarks at the White House on Friday.

Rev. Sharpton has said protests were planned for more than 100 cities nationwide and organizers have voiced hopes they will be peaceful, with no further outbreaks of the violence that led to arrests in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay area earlier this week.

Zimmerman and 'Stand Your Ground'

OB-YG254_graver_G_20130719132106.jpg

Following George Zimmerman's acquittal in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, new battle lines are forming between the Obama administration and the National Rifle Association.

This week, Attorney General Eric Holder and the NRA traded statements on the merits of "stand your ground" laws, which have been adopted in some form in more than thirty states. The legal principle allows individuals to use reasonable force to defend themselves in a dangerous situation and removes the requirement to retreat.

Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter: Zimmerman case a wake-up call to finish MLK’s work

Published time: July 19, 2013 20:23

mlk.si.jpg

The daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., Bernice King, believes the Zimmerman case shows that racial discrimination is still prominent in the US.

King is one of the most prominent civil rights leaders of the 20th century and the CEO of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change.

Only an open dialogue discussing the issues of race, prejudice, and discrimination will help irradiate the fear that still exists between different races around the world and allow humans to live and connect as one race, King told RT.

George Zimmerman Was In 'God's Hands,' Webbie Believes

Although many rappers denounce the Trayvon Martin verdict, Webbie tells MTV News that the case was decided by higher powers.

By Rob Markman (@RobMarkman)

While opinions vary, the majority of hip-hop artists who have voiced their opinions on George Zimmerman's not guilty verdict in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin disagree with the jury's decision. Webbie doesn't say that he thinks Zimmerman is innocent, but he doesn't wish jail upon him either.

"I can't see me saying, 'Man y'all should put him in jail'... No I'm gonna leave that to God's hands," the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, rapper told MTV News on Thursday. "God blessed him. God watched him and God didn't want to put him in there with the animals in the jungle."

Good to see Houston's Chief Of Police recommending people stay out of River Oaks.

http://www.khou.com/news/local/HPD-chief-Stay-away-from-River-Oaks-protest-216085491.html

Houston’s police chief encouraged people to stay away from the areas of River Oaks, traditionally the city’s wealthiest neighborhood, where demonstrators plan to stage Sunday afternoon protests over the Trayvon Martin shooting case. Demonstrators speaking out against the verdict plan to march through River Oaks, which they argue has a history of racial profiling. Meanwhile, a Facebook page is encouraging gun owners with concealed handgun permits to bring their weapons to a counterdemonstration.
“I understand the frustration on both sides of the issue,” said Chief Charles McClelland. “I understand it’s a very volatile issue.”
Nonetheless, McClelland says he expects the demonstration to be peaceful. So do the organizers of the protest, who’ve already staged two other major demonstrations earlier this week.

I have to wonder if he'll be called an Uncle Tom or worse?
