Hmmm ..

My TV's guide shows that Nancy Grace will be repeated at 12:00 AM my time (or 1:00 AM Eastern Time)

I guess HLN rearranged their schedule somewhat, as sometime ago Nancy Grace would have been repeated right now - 9:00 PM my time (or 10:00 PM Eastern Time)

Is there an English translation of that?

"The Caucasian gentleman became upset because he was set upon and roundly beaten at fisticuffs by the young African-American lad."

What I saw was her saying "Now that the dust has settled and we can watch all the videos, what do you think?" No comments. Just kept playing the zimmerman interview videos over and over. Honestly, she had an "i was wrong" look on her face like maybe she just 'got it' about Trayvon being out of control. I doubt it though.

DOJ: Don't return gun to George Zimmerman while we're investigating

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news...george-zimmerman-gun-20130718,0,2431785.story

Following a request from the FBI, the Sanford Police Department reported Thursday that it has halted its plan to return George Zimmerman's gun and other pieces of evidence used at his murder trial.

The move is a clear sign that the U.S. Department of Justice is moving ahead with its investigation into whether the former Neighborhood Watch volunteer violated the civil rights of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed black 17-year-old he shot in Sanford last year.

Zimmerman was acquitted Saturday by a six-member Seminole County Jury, a decision that has prompted demonstrations in Sanford, Orlando and major cities across the U.S., including violence in Oakland and Los Angeles.

wow. gotta say that is rather scary.

Has anybody asked TM's parents about GZ's injuries, how they think he got them? Do they believe TM was beating GZ up?

Apparently AC did sort of confront them about that idea, and of course neither of them can address the idea directly. They suggest that it's an insensitive thing to say, as if sensitivities have any place in deciding whether a man is guilty of a crime or not.

Noticed that she was "missing" on her own show from Monday-Wednesday. I would have loved to see her face when the verdict was read last Saturday, but she was conveniently absent and busy somewhere else. From the get go she was already adamant what the results of the trial would be and shutting off her guest not agreeing to her twisted viewpoint. Hope they drop her show and put someone else with more "credibility" regardless of her history as a prosecutor.

Even though a jury acquitted George Zimmerman, his community association paid a large settlement to the family of Trayvon Martin. (AP)

George Zimmerman Wins Florida State Lottery

News in Brief • Breaking • News • ISSUE 49•29 • Jul 16, 2013

700.jpg

SANFORD, FL—Just days after being fully acquitted for his role in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman reportedly won the $37 million Florida Lottery jackpot last night. “Yeah! All right!” said a visibly smiling Zimmerman, holding the winning lottery ticket he purchased on a whim hours after he was found not guilty for shooting and killing the unarmed 17-year-old. “I just figured why not, you know? I think I’ll probably use the money to buy a bigger house and a new car, and I’ll invest the rest. This is just fantastic. Life is good.” Zimmerman added that he’ll never have to worry about money again.

you know, i just watched a clip of Trayvon's parents on youtube (interview on AC360)...

I didn't even watch the whole thing. Maybe 30 seconds. And I have to say, I feel a profound sense of sadness. No one is giving them an opportunity to grieve. No one is giving them any peace with the constant interviews and cries for 'justice'. I can't imagine the number of times they have relived the pain of his death from all of this.

Regardless of what actually happened, and regardless of the verdict (in fact it may be worse due to the acquittal, which from what little I've followed seems to be the correct/proper verdict), my heart goes out to both families. Zimmerman no doubt feels liked a marked man, and for very good reason. If I were him, I'd probably be scared to leave my own home. The media circus is giving neither family any rest, and the call for 'justice' I suspect makes things worse for Martin's family since they think that they will never get any.

It is truly a lose-lose situation all around :(

TM's parents are still running around and spewing out lies = http://www.cnn.com/2013/07/18/justice/trayvon-martin-parents/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

On NBC's "Today," Fulton said the case is "sending a terrible message to other little black and brown boys -- that you can't walk fast, you can't walk slow. So what do they do? I mean, how do you get home without people knowing or either assuming that you're doing something wrong? Trayvon wasn't doing anything wrong.

 x 100000000000000000000 at the bolded/underlined statement.

I almost went into a rage earlier watching CNN.

CNN should be shut down to inciting riots.
I guess by "nothing wrong" they mean that kicking the shit out of somebody for following and approaching you is "not wrong".

I have a lot of sympathy for these parents but they are starting to cross the line into Sharpton territory.

Does it seem like there's a catch 22 to the government's pursuit of a violation of the Civil Rights Act. Under that provision, Zimmerman needed to be acting under the color of the law (i.e., instructed by the police dispatcher to follow and / or detain). But if he was acting under the color of the law, wouldn't he essentially be an "officer," which would further justify his shooting of Martin? Anyways, I'm not 100% about the intricacies of the Civil Rights Act but maybe one of the other resident lawyers on ATOT will have some insight.
