Did I say it wasn't painful? All I said was that she obviously is on one side of the dispute and any defense attorney would cite this in a court of law in casting doubts on her opinion.

Okay, so you believe she intentionally lie, but give a pass to Zimmerman and his self defense like he has no motivation to lie.

Wonder why that is? Race got anything to do with that?

It's not really a lie. The screams I heard on the tape really were indeterminate, but I can see how a mother would believe it was her son screaming.

Did Zimmerman lie? Maybe. We don't really know yet since not much has come around in proving him a liar.

Race has nothing to do with it. I've stated before that my biggest problem is this law that prevents even the arrest. I do believe that he ought to be arrested and tried.

This is an interesting tidbit from that CNN article linked above:
Attorneys for the Martin family say that a girl who was on the phone with the teenager near the time of the shooting, who does not wish to be identified, said Martin told her someone was following him. The girl could hear Zimmerman ask Martin his name and why he was there, the attorneys said.

So we have a reliable account of the inital encounter, and it appears Z just asked him who he was and why he was there, completely reasonable. I don't see how this thing gets out of hand if J just stays calm and answers his questions. I have a sneaky suspicion that he decided to get confrontational, maybe even trying to impress this girl on the phone.

What's this bullshit that Zimmerman couldn't be a racist since he was hispanic. I lived in Orange county California and the largest minority in that county after whites is hispanic which about 31 per cent. The are very few blacks in Orange country 1.7% which is no accident. Hispanics hate blacks more than white people do. When I lived down there, whenever there were fights at the schools in LA it was virtually always between blacks and hispanics.

Not saying it's right or wrong just that's the facts.

Impress the girl on the phone? If someone asked me that, I'd be like "who the fuck is this stranger".

Now we have proof that Z is racist from the earlier link, does that change anyone's mind?

I don't really know what he said, it was under his breath and it could have been something else.

And even then utterly a slur during a conflict doesn't = hate crime automatically. It's a heat of the moment thing.

I don't think he was trying to impress the girl on the phone.

This account is enough to warrant an arrest and trial though, since it contradict's Zimmerman's statement that he was walking back to his car when Martin attacked from behind.

I've said all along that Zimmerman should go to trial. My main objections really are to the people who think he's an evil monster and who think the PD is corrupt and covering up for Zimmerman in some racist conspiracy.

There was no conflict at that time. I heard it plainly, you need better speakers.

Does anyone know why are seemingly NO current pictures of this kid? Why are all of the pics of him at ~12 years old?

There are no current pictures of Zimmerman either. But yes, I do believe that the pictures play a large role in the current furor over the case.

And he probably just happened to see some raccoons at 1:52 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aVwPqXc-bk

Interesting how people throw in the black friends, relatives claim to say how they are or someone else is not racist. Having black relatives is not a big deal, he could be a big time racist whose sister ends up marrying a black man. If he, himself, personally, adopts a black kid or marries a black woman etc. would be a different scenario and much more sensible excuse rather than, he has black friends and relatives. He could very well believe blacks are low-life scumbags and cause all the crimes and only vents his views online whether it's ATOT or a dedicated forum like stormfront yet BE FRIENDLY with blacks IN REAL LIFE.

There are tons of hispanics (actually look hispanic as well, lol) who love to identify themselves as white and try to shun the brown and blacks among themselves as much as possible. Even though the stormfront aryans would clearly not accept them as white (census couldn't care less) they still want their acceptance and continue to feel that privileged status.

Z's computer and other such equipment should be confiscated to further the investigation. It's a hate crime and the racist didn't let go off the perfect opportunity to hunt a n!gger without facing any consequences. There are quite some members on this forum as well who've displayed affection of taking life of someone they hate if there were no consequences; so it's not far-fetched to believe Z could be one of those.

Good. Can't wait to watch the head(s) explode...

When they determine that according to the law they can't charge Zimmerman?

Authorities may be limited by a state law that allows people to defend themselves with deadly force, the AP reports.
Under the old law, people could use deadly force in self-defense only if they had tried to run away or otherwise avoid the danger. Under the new law, there is no duty to retreat and it gives a Floridian the right "to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force," if he feels threatened.

So you are dismissing Z's new story?

They dont want you to see his Grill, dreadlocks and gang tatoos. Also Zimmerman cant be racist - turns out he is Hispanic.

I have a sneaking suspicion you didn't listen to Z's 911 call where he is chasing through the neighborhood on foot at night with a loaded gun before ever talking to him....

I don't know that he said "coons," though I do think that is a reasonable interpretation. That being said, your defense of him seems disingenuous to me. He was not in a "conflict" - he was just following a teenager walking in the rain. To the extent this was a particularly stressful situation, it was because he had, in his head, turned it into a threatening one.

Does it matter? And if so, why?

It does matter. This kid is being accused of being some thug, or at least looking suspicious which led to the neighborhood watch guy confronting him.

The fact that there are NO current pictures make me believe some of these accusations of him being a thug could be true, and that someone (media, family, whoever) are witholding them because of that.

Personally, it makes me assume that there are no 'media presentable' pics of the kid.
