After installing my new mobo and processor I upgraded my video card and installed the software from a cd. Then a new sound card and software from a cd. Now however I can't install any games. They lock up the system during installation and I have to shut down if it doesn't reboot by itself. I uninstalled the sound card and its software but that didn't help. Then I get hard driver errors saying I have fats that do not match and unallocated clusters. Help me!

It would help if you gave some specs to work with. Exactly what motherboard, processor, sound card and operating system are you using?

Did you do a reinstall after replacing the motherboard and processor? What were you using previously?

If you do not have Norton utilities DiskDoctor then log onto your hard drive and type CHKDSK /F.

If you do not have the dos OS installed on the HD boot up with your emergency floppy boot disk to dos. Then from the A: prompt type

CHKDSK /F C:

That should repair your FAT16 or fat32 unallocated clusters.

If that works then reformat your hard drive.
