This is good for L.A., I have no idea whether it works elsewhere.

I called to change my plan today (from 300 minutes per month to 350 (1 yr commitment req'd) --Verizon changed the plans very recently, and the price is the same, so if you haven't upgraded your plan recently, you may want to), and was surprised to find that they were offering the following deal, which is not on their web site:

If you sign up for the Local Digital Choice 350 plan for $35.00/month, you get: 350 anytime minutes, 3150 night/weekend minutes, and then your choice of either: 1,000 mobile-to-mobile minutes, or free national long distance. I assume you get this offer with higher priced plans as well, but I didn't ask. I told the rep that the deal wasn't on their website, and he said they were only offering by phone since they didn't want to confuse people, because customers will not get both mobile-to-mobile and long distance.

Pretty good deal I think, and you'd never know about it if you don't ask.

but Verizon billings are the worst in the industry--never send me the correct billings--always overcharge me etc etc...

Sounds like a good deal but it's not worth the contract renewal for me. Once the Handspring Treo comes out next year, I'm jumping to GSM. That PDA rocks!

good deal hope they have some in the east coast will check later tonight

Nope, not available on the east coast, according to the Verizon Wireless Rep I just talked to on the phone, bummer. You'll have to sacrifice 50 mins and go with the Regional SingleRate East. Maybe they'll change their mind in the last week of the year or something.

Okay to clarify to everyone obviously they are talking about cell-phones. Most people that I know did not understand. The only reason I came in the post because it sounded like a land line phone deal not mobile :)
