Unable to view forums.anandtech.com or the subscriber server

The only way I can post is by going to the IP of the forums sever. I cannot log in, check PMs, or update my profile. The only thing I can do is post(sometimes). I realize you all have been working on it, but I have seen a lot of people saying it was working for them. Is the problem on my end now? Is the DOS affecting certain backbones more?

 
I agree, it would at least be nice to have a little info on what is going on... I am missing sales! Well, at least I am hoping so... hehehe
 
It is down for me too.
I've figured out that if I go to Internet Explorer and delete the cookies and (I don't know if it is needed) the files and the off line files too.. I can get back to the forum. then read and if I want to post I can if I log in at the posting page but then have to re do the delete of the cookies..

I am a subscriber so it must know this and when it sees me even when I'm not logged in it shows me as logged in but not the normal buttons for profile etc..

From the least trustworthy person on the forum. LordRaiden posted that he heard the whole provider for AT and some other forums were down. Not sure if it is the truth or not.

these servers are all hosted at the same place, anandtech.com is fine, forums.anandtech.com is fine. its 2 servers that have gone belly wild on us folk, and the management aint talkin!

its very unlikely that verio (where eicomm anandtech's host is co-located) is under a DOS or connection problem as tracerts and pings are fine.

I'm just wondering if we are going to get pro-rated for the subscriber services we can't access...I can't even log into my account because it automaticly forwards me to the subscriber servers...

Doubtful, but then again I can't remember downtime like this before. Hardware issue maybe? I didn't really buy the DOS idea considering it was posted by LordRaiden.

The subscriber server went down, but why is the forums server addressable by IP? Obviously the server isn't down, but rather the domain server isn't working or somehow crapped out. I really don't know all that much about servers and hosting, but enough to realize that if the IP works, that it could be a domain issue.

Doubtful. They still have over 99% uptime since I have been a subscriber. I really can't complain about uptime. Now... the features we were promised...
