Tried to change password - to no avail
Tried to change signature - didn't work either.

The problem may be that you are using one of the newer internet security programs, such as Norton Internet Security, and your settings are too strong. If so, try temporarily turning it off to see if that is the problem. If you are using the firewall in Windows XP, temporarily disable it. If that allows you to update your profile, try adjusting the strength of your settings.
