Unable to update bios on IBM T41

I downloaded the updated embedded controller program and the latest bios for my T41 (the non-dos version), ran the setups, but when I run them windows simply restarts and nothing updates. From what I read, after you run the setup, you laptop should boot into DOS and the firmware update takes place then.

Any ideas?
