Sorry if this is a repost but as I'm sure you know search is useless.

Anyway, I just finished installing IE7 & now the reply tab in the forums isn't working anymore ... hopefully sombody knows how to fix this?

Update: Well I thought I had this licked by updating the browser object in IE, but it seems to have come back for no apparent reason... I'm going to mess with it for a day or two but if I can't figure it out its back to IE6 for me!

Not sure there is much you can do besides uninstalling and reinstalling. Luckily, all the betas and RC versions uninstall perfectly for me in the past, so you should have no problems reverting back.

Ok, I stumbled on the u-turn looking button at the bottom of the window which opens the quick reply area, but I'm still unable to quote without entering the html manually & the reply button doesn't work either.
It seems IE7 is running with add-ons disabled & I suspect this may be the problem, however following the steps in the help file to enable them has no effect... gonna give it until tonight to get some useful suggestions & then revert back to IE6.. figures, I actually like IE7 too!

Ok.. I think I know what the problem is but I still have no idea what caused it or how to fix it.

The reply, quote, edit top & bottom buttons are all java based, however when I right-click on reply, quote or edit & view properties, its says protocol: unknown & type: unavailable, while top & bottom display protocol: HTML & type: ASPX file.

I'm going to try deleting the Java browser object & see if that fixs the problem, otherwise I'm stumped. 🙁

Yay... fixed it!

Deleting the browser object had no effect, however I went back into the view objects window under internet settings & by right clicking on the Java object icon & selecting update the problem was corrected... fairly convoluted method of doig so though!

I have been having the same problem but 😕 I have not been able to find the View objects window it is probably right in my face but could you help out with a little more info on how and where you corrected this problem.

New INFO:

I found it!! but updating the Java object did not change the problem any other suggestions?

Thanks
Amos

Bad news is that the fix appears to only have been temporary & the problem came back shortly afterwards.. I also tried un-installing Java & re-installing the newest version with no success. 🙁

At this point I'm stumped & for the moment I've just stopped using IE7 for AT forums since I like it & every other site seems to work fine

I have done all the same things and find that sometimes it works others zip 😕. I hope this can be resolved eventualy as IE7 seems to work realy well except for this glitch. For now I am back to using Firefox 1.5 🙂 and will check IE7 in a month or two and see if it works any better afer a few updates come out.

Amos 😎
